I'm Doug Toalston...

A remembrance: A young teen at the battle of the bands held at State St. Junior High, I witnessed a phenom performance with Mark Roller on bass and Paul Cassidy on the drums. Paul played the strings on the bass rythmically, and Mark depressed the frets. The song was "After Me Again" and the pattern heard in the middle of the song is how they started the song. Paul Cassidy was and is the most precision oriented percussionist I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I grew up with Bob LaNave and he filled BIG shoes. Watching Tim roller play guitar was one of the reasons I took up the sport. At best I consider myself a true rythmn guitarist. When asked how I learned such a percussion oriented style I automatically refer to the history of the aforementioned performance. Thank you, Patrick, for keeping this memory intact. Listen... no, buy this CD . Robert Fripp did.
